Time to RSVP for Blogger Summit 2013!

In just about seven months, a black hole will manifest itself. It is the good, non-scary kind of black hole where people of the internet will converge a la reality. That’s right people, the date was determined (pretty much by a land slide) for the Blogger Summit 2013! Hold on to your long johns people. Mine are already packed.

Don’t forget to bring your chargers.

Jen has created a lovely official e-invite for the occasion and we are asking y’all to please RSVP if you are down like a comforter. To do so, just click here, and try not to have a stroke in eager anticipation. We want to herd as many bloggers as we can possible can into a farm of awesome for this event, and that’s where you can help. Please do us a favor and reblog, tweet, Facebook pimp, and take to the streets with megaphones to spread the word.

ALSO, we are going to attempt to make some sort of blable (logo, button, whatever you people call them) to represent the meet up and help publicize it. It will not only help spread the word but it will also be a great sidebar ornament for your blog after you survive the actual meet up. But, we need an image. If you have an idea or an image submission, please tell us in the comments and feel free to send any custom artwork to 25tofly@gmail.com. Jen and I don’t fuck with Photoshop. We are scared.

Here is the recap list. Copy and paste away!

  • Location: Austin, TX
  • Date: October 25th-27th
  • Evite link
  • They can bring guests
  • Remind them to send logo submissions to 25tofly@gmail.com

Also, here is a short list of activity ideas I have come up with for our tirade in Austin, TX.

  • Play a game to see who can hold out the longest on checking their blog stats and/or Twitter account
  • Hip thrust dance party and competition
  • Duck, duck, Jack (did you think I wasn’t bringing him?)
  • Skype session for the unfortunate but precious souls who will not be able to make it to Austin in non internet form
  • “Never have I ever”
  • Find a fountain and go skinny dipping from the shins down (no pressure)
  • Early Halloween costume wearage

I think I am confusing this meet up with the likes of my college day slumber parties, but regardless of whether or not my activity list gets bypassed, this thing is going to be a game changer. So, mark your calendars and make your arrangements. See y’all in October!

  1. Alas, that’s my wife’s birthday weekend! And as much as I’m sure she’d enjoy getting intoxicated with people she doesn’t really know, I’ve already made plans to get her intoxicated with people she DOES know 😦 That said, I still plan to be there by proxy via a cardboard cut-out, which I will live vicariously through. Oh, and don’t worry about sending it back unless you are willing to have it sterilized. And by that I don’t mean cutting the crotch out.

    • Well I am bummed to hear this, then elated that your wife is still alive and celebrating birthdays, but then bummed again that we won’t be able to do anything inappropriate with your cut out. I don’t own sterilization equipment. You will have to trust us!

You can at least tell her happy birthday from an intoxicated stranger. Maybe we will make a sign for her. What’s her name?

      • My wife’s name is Alicia, and I know she would love to share a shot with an intoxicated stranger. And I completely trust your sterilization skills. I’m sure my wife would, too. Then again, what does SHE have to lose?

  2. A hip thrust dance party is alone, enough to make me leave this country and fly down!

  3. i just reblogged this, Becca.
Don’t say I never do anything for you.

  4. Hmnn… It transpires that that weekend I’m likely to be at one of our other houses. Not sure I’ll even be able to sneak away to skype. Please excuse me while I go cry and shout at God.

    • Well that’s just unfair! I am thinking of doing a little something for the bloggers who can’t be there but want to participate in some way. Maybe a photo scavenger hunt idea. You tell us what you want us to snap a picture of/doing and we will send you that picture! Something like that?

      • I will be able to get online there, so yeah, that would be cool, and I could send photos of what I’m getting up to at the same time. (Knitting is going to feature greatly, so consider yourself warned!)

  5. At least I’ll be able to say “I knew those people!” when the inevitable legend emerges from what is sure to be hailed as one of mankind’s greatest moments….
(Pretty thick, I know, but honestly, I’m sure this summit is going to rule!)

  6. Reblogged this on She Said What? and commented:
For anyone who isn’t already following 25tofly…
    1. For shame!
    2. 2013 Blogger Summit coming up! See this post for details.

  7. Sounds like you’ll all have a blast! Unfortunately I’ll be in a tropical paradise (but I’ll be sad I won’t get to try on the long johns) 😀

  8. Launder those long johns! I’m happy to partake from afar.

  9. Hope you have a good day at the meetup, Becca and others… I can’t go as I’m on an island far far away… but I’m sure you’ll have a good time! 😀

  10. This idea is pretty fucking cool and way to go you and Jen for pulling it off! I wish I could take part but I’ll enjoy reading about it as it happens!

    • It’s a shame you wont be able to make it. If you change your mind, you know where to RSVP! And thanks ma’am. We will be sure to give it a detailed write up post-mayhem.

  11. Fun, fun, fun!! I got it on my calendar!

  12. Oh man, it’s HAPPENING. I feel like I should start ordering my unicorn mask now…

  13. I’m going to have to sleep on it. This isn’t much time to get my shins into shape for the world to see…

  14. Any excuse for putting a costume on!! I might come join in the fun. Will there be cheap beer I can guzzle??

  15. Becca,
Thanks to you and Jen for getting this going.
We wouldn’t miss this; looking forward to meeting everyone face-to-face!

    • I am so excited that you are excited about this, Red! It will be a great experience for all of us.

Now, I have GOT to visit your blog. I have been absent lately. *scurries off to your blog*

  16. I will look into this when the time gets closer. Maybe a visit to my friend in San Antonio, then a short trip up to join the fun? Who knows..

  17. Hip thrust dance party? I’m there! ….on Skype that is.

  18. Hope it goes well – been to Austin strangely enough – 6th Street was a sight to behold!

  19. Hahaha, summit is one thing, that photo is another. HILARIOUS! And it’s me more than I care to admit.

Anyway, will be spreading the word too! Better send me a piece of cake or sth!

    • It’s me too Pixie. You should see me dive over my couch and barrel roll to my outlet when that battery notification pops up. It’s equally embarrassing and impressive.

Wish you could come, but thanks for helping to spread the word!

  20. Suuuuper cool! I’m so sorry to miss it, but I can’t WAIT to read all about it across the blogosphere. Kudos to you and Jen for coordinating such an epic event.

P.S. – F PhotoShop. PowerPoint all the wayyyy (says the girl who still has a Yahoo! email account)!

    • PowerPoint and me go WAYYY back Jules. I am with you on that one. Yahoo… not so much. Gmail kind of sucks too.

Wait, I forgot the most important part of my response. Why the hell aren’t you coming? I have seen you go to blogging conventions before, so I am confused.

  21. Austin is a great choice. I love Austin. A weird city for weird people.

  22. Becca,
